Review of Walkabout (1971) by Chris V — 18 Aug 2009
Really good. first, the setting was beautiful, great shots of the australian outback, huge expanses of nature, some really epic stuff...the basic story was good too, just the idea of being lost in the outback, then saved by an aboriginal.
..but the deeper story, the father's actions, the clash of cultures, the sexual tension between the aboriginal and the girl...it all led to a very moving, very bittersweet movie.
