Strange and engaging. The metaphors and analogies are met with great imagery. I found myself uncomfortable at times. Notably the comparison between the Beautiful British girl swimming and the Aborigine clubbing the kangaroo. In fact, lots of animal death left me feeling a bit uncomfortable and wrong.

Tremendous in it's editing in regards to the juxtaposition between 1st and 2nd unit (wherein I would say the 2nd unit is of equal importance to the first, and what gives the film it's strange quality).

It is difficult for me to review older films, because I don't know what to compare them to, and what the standards were, but I will rate this one on the ability it has to stick with the viewer. I think I will have trouble forgetting many of the images viewed in Walkabout, and though I've seen films better deal with the struggles of communication, and the direct comparisons of culture, this may have been one of the first good ones made. That's it for my sloppy 2 minute review.
