Review of Walk the Line (2005) by Amanda H — 30 Mar 2012
I have exactly zero interest in the music of Johnny Cash, and I never would have expected to enjoy this film because I've never been interested in him or his life. But this movie has so much to appreciate that it could have been the life story of someone no one had ever heard of, and it would have been a great film.
Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon are perfect. I also really enjoyed the small appearance by Tyler Hilton as Elvis Presley. This is a slow moving, understated movie, but one that should not be missed.
