Maudlin tripe that attempts to escalate a talented songwriter/singer into an undeserved legend. The over the top soap operatic life choices portrayed make this "true story" seem like more of a farce than its infinitely more enjoyable farce Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
As a matter of fact, it's the exact same movie, you are just apt to like the characters in the Dewey Cox story more.
