Review of Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007) by David M — 20 Aug 2009
Musical meets Juvenile Humor, but if I told you Judd Apatow was making a musical what else would you expect?
It's like rap meets country, one of those combination that you wouldn't really expect to work and well, it sort of doesn't. Take your average VH1 rockumentary and add some sing-alongs, that's about it.
I generally like Judd Apatow movies, stupid but genuinely funny but here the space where characters would develop and the movie would move along are sacrificed for diddies that are less than they could have been - juvenile wordplay, double entendres and the like.
OK but one would expect more from Mr. Apatow.
