Review of Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007) by Trevor C — 22 Apr 2011
My personal favorite film starring John C. Reilly. Possibly the best part of it all is that all these over the top things happen, yet everybody (though goofy) acts as realistically as possible - for the most part. Its a film that has many memorable and quotable moments - very much like how Anchorman did.
Even though this film is a parody of Rock Idol films (don't know what the genre is really called) and Musicians of those eras alike, it still stands on its own as a Rock Idol film that is considerably better than many films of the genre. It has its own sort of deeper meaning that, though satirized, can be taken seriously as life lessons. It basically combines the lessons of all movies that it's based on into one, but its better find them in one place than many others I suppose - plus the music is actually good.
