Review of Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007) by Rameshwar N — 16 Jul 2011
The seriousness of it's silliness is what charms it's way to the end. It's not just silly, it is smart too with an amazing array of funny and catchy songs with well written scenario based lyrics and time line based music.
At some point it feels like they tried a bit too hard to cover every stereo type that exists in a biopic, which is where it drags. First half of the movie tries to give a meaning for the term 'against all odds' and there is a complete detail on what drug does what following a chronology of their invention/popularity.
Otherwise it entertains as good as any other parody with a generic but smart narrative/story line.
