Review of Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price (2005) by Colleen C — 04 Apr 2010
I've never been a Wal-Mart shopper and I already knew about some of their various abuses from reading Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich, but I never imagined that a corporation could dupe the system so well.
The fact that so many of these workers are on welfare, receiving state benefits (such as WIC), and have to rely on state sponsored healthcare systems because Wal-Mart's insurance has such a high deductible is just morally reprehensible.
But, as the title suggests, someone has to pay for those low, low prices, and it isn't going to be the Waltons.
