Review of Waking Life (2001) by Calum H — 01 Sep 2009
The animation is so unusual, inventive and generally great that you could almost just turn the sound off and watch the visuals. The protaganist meets people who discuss science, philosophy and the life of dreaming and waking, and what these people say is certainly interesting.
The film is heavy on dialogue, and it's all a lot to take in in one go - you may need to see the film twice in order to take it all in. Still, everyone should at least try watching this film, even if they don't like it.
