Review of Waking Life (2001) by Emma C — 06 Mar 2009
I cannot truthfully say I enjoyed this movie but it is one of the more interesting films I have seen and I will admit that unless you have more than a basic grasp of philosophy (which I don't) it will take more than one viewing to appreciate it.
The problem being that it is basically a film of random encounters of philosophical musings. Some of which are spoken so fast it seems like a school lecture that you lose interest in and will just read the notes after.
However as an introduction to these kind of ideas and as a stimulus to those who have a passing interest it might get them to investigate further, which is good.
