Review of Waking Life (2001) by Eduardo L — 30 Dec 2011
Waking Life is one of those movies that makes you think about the world differently. It makes you question everything around you, and flips the world on it's head. Are we in life's waiting room? What if life were just one long lucid dream? What if life is a dream within a dream? It makes you ponder some of lifes most difficult questions while also making you aware that there is a counter-culture going on right now and it's been happening since man's awakening from creature to creator.
We are the music makers and the dreamers of dreams, so let's not allow ourselves to be trapped and bounded by "Slavery Inc." After all as the movie says, "it's bad enough that we have to sell our waking life for minimum wage, but they get your dreams for free.
" This movie is a coup de tat of the world we live in, it's a wake up and smell the coffee, kick you in the nuts kind of flick, That's why it will go down as a classic for the beginning of the 21st century.
