This move shines light on the poor situations of the poor standards of public schools in the United States. As a person who lives outside the US, this movie was shocking, and rather saddening. The facts that are brought forward and the way that they are shown in the film are incredibly effective.
This is, in retrospect, the "Inconvenient Truth" for the Education system.
