Review of Waiting for "Superman" (2010) by Mariel H — 15 Apr 2011
The next one in the line of movies, which show how the "greatest" country, the biggest economy, the ultimate freedom country, fails in anything, which has anything to do with the word "social".
This time it is about the education in US. As a person grown and educated in Eastern Europe, I cannot even imagine anyone going higher then 1st grade without being being able to read, write, subtract and add.
. Not mentioning going to high school. I would never live in a country where there is no social system - medical, pension, education - these are things that every human being has the right to. I suspect that the problem there was always that anyone who tried to do anything social, was always labelled as a communist.
Sad, but true, isn't it?
