Review of Wait Until Dark (1967) by Brandon V — 20 Jun 2009
Pure brilliance. The script is tight and flawless and the performances are unforgettable, and the concept extremely unique. The ballsy nature of the finale, with it's all-natural lighting and terrifying tosses into total darkness while the audience only hears the soundtrack, still impresses.
Remarkably, the only thing which dates it are the costumes, and that of course is to be expected, as it was made and set in 1967. I can't find a thing wrong with it except the nitpickiest of nitpicks. One of the greatest thrillers ever made.
