Review of Wait Until Dark (1967) by Matt D — 18 Feb 2013
Who knew that lovable old crank Alan Arkin used to be such a creepy bastard? I sure didn't but this film sure proves the point! As a man terrorizing poor, blind Audrey Hepburn he is scary in the worst way possible. That moment toward the end when you think he's dead? I screamed like a little girl and I'm not ashamed to admit.
There are moments of directorial brilliance scattered throughout the film but a somewhat sagging middle section kind of keeps it from becoming a thriller masterpiece. Definitely worth your time though!
