Review of Waist Deep (2006) by George K — 09 Feb 2009
Ridiculous and derivative. That said it does a few interesting things, most notably the surprisingly mature handling of the relationship between the two brothers. Nonetheless, it is a very entertaining film that is far fetched but grounds itself in a hyper-stylized reality.
This film plays almost as a urban superhero tale. Tyrese Gibson admittedly not one of my favorite actors pulls off everything with easy, little or no resistance.
