Review of Wadjda (2012) by Samir S — 19 Mar 2014
Wadjda gives a view in the life of a little girl who is trying to cope up with her repressive environment. It shows what it means to grow up in the Middle East where the syllabus designed in schools has no scope for developing logical thinking and where the notion of personal freedom is a taboo.
Hats off to the director Haifaa Al-Mansour for coming out with this brave and important film. Through out the film, I kept feeling lucky and thankful for having born in India and moreover in Bombay.
