A well done bio-pic that suffers from a crappy trailer and the reputation of its director. Ignore these things and enjoy Josh Brolin's excellent portrayal of Bush as a man with noble ambitions thwarted by his simple thought processes and his squabbling advisers, and the near perfect casting of Richard Dreyfuss as Dick Cheney, the man Bush foolishly trusts despite the evidence against him.
The last scenes, seemingly arbitrary at first, hide the thesis of the film; That George W Bush may not have been worthy of being president, and certainly dropped the ball when it counted most, but that he is certainly not the evil incarnate of the left nor a blessed savior of the right, and remains just a man in over his head.
