Review of W. (2008) by True Dirt F — 21 Jan 2011
I was expecting a lot more from this film but ended up with a mediocre bore. Josh Brolin and the rest of the cast do an okay job in this film, they make it pretty convincing. The story follows Bush from his early days up till the time when as president he decides to invade Iraq.
Oliver Stone illustrates his own opinions in the film by portraying Bush as an arrogant and utterly ignorant man. The whole film criticizes and makes fun of Bush's life and his presidency. The movie was boring in the sense that Stone was showing and telling us things we already knew about Bush in a lackluster style.
We all know his faults, decisions and actions he made in his life. We don't need a film to tell us what Bush did or was, we already know. Perhaps it would have been more interesting if the acting was a bit better or if it was done in a documentary fashion.
Otherwise you will loose interest before the movie is halfway over.
