Review of W. (2008) by Tija F — 23 Jan 2011
Josh Brolin is excellent, and his performance is definitely worth seeing the movie. That being said, the film is both flawed and often over-simplified. Although interesting and entertaining, its sympathetic focus on Bush's family life takes away from the political side of the story and any real message the movie could have presented.
Although given the chance I would probably watch it again, ultimately W. fails because it doesn't tell you anything you didn't already know.
