Review of W. (2008) by Robert I — 17 Jan 2013
Oliver Stone... what were you smoking? The film meanders in the beginning (I guess to present W's younger days) but ends up not really revealing anything pertinent at all. The bookends of W in a baseball field are stupid as well.
The film does pick up towards the middle (cabinet meeting scenes) but in the end, again, nothing shocking or thought-provoking is presented. Stone likes to use a weird fish-eye lens to over exaggerate certain people in W's life -almost to the point where one expects them to be twirling a mustache and making sinister laughs.
In the end: not worth your time. Oh, what was the deal with the corn on the cob? Some sort of stupid Freudian reference?
