Review of Von Ryan's Express (1965) by Pei-Jean L — 18 Dec 2007
Ok so while films depicting mass break outs from POW camps were nothing new in the post WWII era (for example The Great Escape) you can be forgiven for thinking that it's just another version of The Great Escape.
My dad actually told me to watch this when he saw it at a VCD shop telling me he liked this movie better than The Great Escape. Frank Sinatra is superb as the downed American pilot Joseph Ryan. Watch it if you get the chance as Sinatra proves that he is also a great actor not just a great singer.
