Review of Viva Las Vegas (1964) by Carol K — 16 Jun 2013
Though it's plot follows the basic Elvis formula, this time set around a racecar driver, although very little time is spent on this, "Viva Las Vegas" has become a stand out among the King's filmography.
This is due to Ann-Margret, who's screen presence and chemistry with Elvis is enough to create a strong supporting character - a rare occurrence in an Elvis film.
Also, let's face it, it's Elvis. They may be a vehicle for music videos, but his films ARE fun, and Viva Las Vegas itself is a bloody iconic tune.
