Review of Visioneers (2008) by Andrae A — 30 Jul 2009
I watched the movie and I started to lose interest in it. But all of a sudden the movie's feel changed dramatically and it hooked me. This dark quasi futuristic film took my breath away and it amazed me to watch this utopian-ish society fall deeper into its own fear and how one of its workers, played masterfully by Galifiankis, holds on to this very last hope of a better life.
The longer the movie went on, the more and more I fell in love with its humor and its message. No matter how great I think this film is it clearly isn't for everyone. The style it was filmed in and the approach of the film will be off putting to some but if you're able to stick it out through the movie you will be rewarded with its message.
If you're looking for something for completely different and refreshing then buy this movie. Don't waste money renting it. Don't wait for it on your Netflix queue. Buy this film so you can continuously appreciate this gem of a film.
