The one word that I cannot go wrong with in describing this movie is "odd". It's a bit like a smaller-scale version of BRAZIL, but the comparison would risk underselling the utter uniqueness of this film.

I'm not sure I've ever seen an onscreen world so imaginative and different, and yet so completely mundane. It maintains a slow pace, long stretches of oppressive quiet, and a good deal of monotone delivery to reach its very strange tone, and the net result is certainly not going to be for everybody.

But for fans of experimental cinema, it's very much worth seeing.
