An affected mish-mash of other people's ideas and styles that occasionally manages to transcend its influences and create an emotional resonance, though I think that's partly due to Galifianakis's sympathetically minimalist performance.
If you want to make the case that American indie movies are full of quirky bullshit and frustrated man-child protagonists, here's your argument-ender. And I liked the damn thing.
