Review of Viridiana (1962) by Firas M — 23 Dec 2007
Take the Bunuel name out of the equation and the controversy of it with the Catholic church and you end up with a film that is sometimes intrigueing and most times obvious. Though I liked the strong political detestion presented the film wasnt revolutionary or shocking as I was lead to believe and Im not sure why the church made a fuss about it.
There are other films out there to cry about. I didnt dislike the film but I didnt particularly like it. It was actualy surprisingly predictable and never took a turn I couldnt foresee which took the joy out of it.
