Very poor remake of the classic 1960's horror about a group of demonic chldren that take over a village and begin to off the adults. How John Carpenter, director of numerous brilliant horror films, managed to mess this up so bad I will never know.

The opening 30 minutes are very good, the scene is set excellently as an entire village faints at the same time and when they wake up many of the women are pregnant. There pace is perfect and we are left wondering what the cause is. When the children are born though it all goes down hill very fast. The child actors are terrible and they look ridiculous. The dialogue is incredibly cheesy, the film is far too slow and the ending just horribly anti-climatic. You will find yourself holding in the laughter and how stupid it looks when you are supposed to be frightened.

Really an awful remake and the the film that marked the beginning of the end for John Carpenters illustrious career.
