Review of Videodrome (1983) by Andrew G — 03 Feb 2012
Cronenberg's Videodrome is a freudian field day that brings to realization the nightmares of new media. The film is an hour and a half of disillusion and mirages that preaches digital-aged prophecies which are funny at first but become all too real as the film progresses.
This film can be analyzed every-which way and will remain relevant as long as media technology is changing. All theory aside, Videodrome is a wild ride that provides narrative and visual stimulation.
