Review of Video Games: The Movie (2014) by Colin C — 23 Oct 2014
If someone had told me there was a documentary about video games that was entirely boring I honestly wouldn't have believed it was possible; but seeing is believing. This is literally the worst documentary I have ever seen.
It's an hour and half long commercial about how awesome video games are. It's just a bunch of gamers (and a few people posing as gamers) circle jerking over video games and they're childhood while they explain to you what a video game is.
It's like a bunch of gamers trying to explain to midwestern house wives why videos are great, then packaged into a documentary by someone just out of film school. There's nothing interesting at all.
I have zero idea how this was apparently supposed to be entertaining and insightful. It feels like you just got hired at video game company and at your first day orientation they make you a watch a video on the history of video games and this is it.
