An utter waste of some good actors in a movie that can't quite decide what it wants to be. It wouldn't have taken much to tip this into slapstick given McAvoy's gleeful scenery-chewing performance or Radcliffe's somewhat endearing performance.
I began checking my watch about 35 minutes into it and that might have been the highlight of my day at the movies. I WANTED to like this film - and I did enjoy the performances of the two leads and Jessica Brown Findlay (who was criminally under-served by the script), but couldn't.
Wasted opportunity.
