Review of Victor Frankenstein (2015) by W James S — 05 Aug 2016
This film has beautiful production design, that reminded me of "Penny Dreadful" as it's a very neo-gothic depiction of Victorian England. Unfortunately the actors must have found it a tasty design as well because they spend much of their on screen time chewing up the scenery.
The script is very melodramatic, bordering on soap opera, and the direction is amateurish and pedestrian making it almost feel like a very elaborate student film. It ended with a strong sequel foreshadowing, which I truly hope doesn't happen.
