Stick to the airy fairy romcoms Gurinder love, just too sickly and bollywood-like to be taken seriously. The victors write the history as you said in the intro, but you made no attempt to tackle the subject seriously or with grit.

The main protagonists were chosen for the star allure rather than their ability to portray political gravitas. Overall a poor show, best to move into bollywood.
