Bale carries the movie, Simple as that. He does a fantastic job as Chaney but Vice just fails to impress. It's a very straight-forward bio-epic that kind of glances over various parts of Chaney's life.
The only other stand out part would be the great narration by Jesse Plemons. Aside from that, Vice doesn't do anything out the ordinary and it fails to keep you entertained and invested.
