Review of Vice (2018) by Samson I — 25 Dec 2018

I am a political nut and have been looking forward to this movie for some time. I thought it was great presenting the historical facts through Dick Chemey's career. He is presented as being both good and evil throughout the movie. Maybe a little more evil than good, but the movie does stress that Cheney did what he thought was in America's best interest.

The only thing I didn't like about this movie was all of the cutaways. The plot was so scattered and would just get ridiculously off track at times. But would always bring it back in a flash.

Spoiler Alert: Like there is one part in the scene where shakspere is mentioned somehow and the for the next 4-5 minutes it was Dick and Lynee speaking Medevial English, like out of a shakspere play. Then all of a sudden it went back to before it happened and repeated the scene in normal english as though the medevial scene never even happened.

I guess these cutaways were to keep the mood light as it is a pretty slow movie. It just got irritating after a while. You really need to be moderately interested in history, if not politics to enjoy this movie. Overall great movie. I would see it again.
