Review of Vexille (2007) by Michael B — 25 May 2008
The characters were cardboard cutouts, and the plot had some holes, but the animation and effects were dazzling enough to hold my interested throughout. After the entire Japanese race is wiped out, the "happy ending" of a butterfly flitting into the sunset with a voiceover about hope and the "next generation" felt a little contrived.
Worth seeing for the effects and adventure, though.
