Review of Very Bad Things (1998) by Jams G — 10 Jun 2009
Pitch black comedy, written and directed by Peter berg, which follows the exploits of five friends over the course of a stag weekend, and the aftermath. One needs a seriously sick sense of humour to get anything out of this film, thankfully I have so on the whole I managed to have a good time with it.
The script is solid if unspectacular, and a good proportion of the film is seriously thin on substance but what is there is elevated by excellent and quirky performances, especially by Slater, Stern and Diaz (who essentially reprises her role from 'My Best Friends Wedding', albeit twisted to fuck).
Good film but not for everyone - don`t say you wern`t warned.
