Review of Vertigo (1958) by Alessandra M — 31 Mar 2013
A beautiful, eerie, and dreamlike masterpiece, Vertigo is truly the work of a genius. Obsessive, nightmarish, full of hidden emotions and longings, it reaches to the most deep within us. In fact, it's one of the few movies that is able to fully understand the complexity of human obsession, love, mourning and unattainable desires. Maybe that's why this film stays so long in our mind long after we've seen it for the first time; its seductive power is undeniable.
One of Hitchcock's finest - if not the best - movies which only gets better with time and will always be as present as the day it was first screened. A must-see.
