Review of Vertigo (1958) by Jc E — 20 Mar 2014
I kind of jump from one Alfred Hitchcock (North by Northwest) film to the next, and some are more entertaining than others. This one didn't do as much for me as some of his other pictures did, but James Stewart (Rear Window) definitely has credibility beyond his George Bailey character from 'It's a Wonderful Life'.
He gives it all he's got in this flick, but it never really amounts to what I was expecting from the incomparable Hitchcock. The film is serviceable enough, but coming from such an esteemed director of suspense with a well-liked lead like Stewart, I expected a bit more.
