Review of Vertigo (1958) by Byron B — 16 Feb 2013
I'm more a fan of Rear Window. I really don't get how this has now taken the top spot on the BFI list. It is kind of disturbing that Hitchcock claimed this as his most personal film. Fears and obsessions are the spices that are supposed to make this engaging.
I didn't really care too much about the characters or buy the convoluted story. The special effects, especially the dream sequence at the grave, are so dated and cheesy. Really!? This represents Hitchcock's best?
