Review of Veronica Mars (2014) by Amilcar A — 15 Mar 2014

Yesterday I was pretty uninspired in terms of movie choices so I went strictly by consensus. Most reviewers had this Veronica Mars flick in a positive light so I said what the hell.

Turns out this film was based on a TV show (proves how versed in pop culture I am). Evidently, I missed most of the inside jokes, I didn't know any of the characters and probably didn't totally understand the movie.

Now, this is not a movie for smart people, in fact quite the contrariety. It's pretty dumb but in a light and easy going way it works. It's amusing, silly and ultimately irrelevant and forgettable. This is the kind of film that you will see for 99 cents in the DVD rack at 7/11. However, given the expectations and lack of knowledge I enjoyed it.

The theater was also relatively full so this must have had a a following at some point.

Either way, it's not a bad movie and if you have nothing else to do, it won't feel like a total waste of money,.
