Those who say it is strickly for fans haven't talked to the non-fans who were in the theatres. I met a couple of girls last night who had never seen the show and they loved the movie. In fact, they said they are going to look up the show and watch the seasons because of the movie.
If you have never seen the show before, don't worry, you will still like the movie.
