If I was a fan of the TV series this would probably deserve 4 stars but I'm not so I won't. This is a movie made partially with fan money raised through Kickstarter. That shows the passion some people had for the series.
I don't know if Rob Thomas pleased them or not. What few folks were there for the Old Geezers Who Go To The Matinee Alone showing didn't seem all that impressed, some left early (which I considered at one point).
The main story is bogged down with too much back story and too much added plot elements. It was a pretty good thriller/detective yarn, but the other pieces didn't work all that well for me. I do like Kristen Bell and the other actors did good jobs for the most part.
If you are a fan of the series you'll like this, if not, not so much I expect.
