Review of Vera Drake (2004) by Jon F — 07 Mar 2011
One of Mike Leigh's better films with a great performance by Imelda Staunton, who most people probably know (by now) from the Harry Potter films. Vera is a housekeeper/abortion provider in 1950's London - telling too much more gives away how nicely (if depressingly) this all plays out.
