Review of Vengeance Is Mine (1979) by Jesse O — 09 Aug 2007
This movie is just excellent. Ken Ogata was just fantastic here, he really portrayed evil down to a T. Where this movie also succeeds is that this film is not just about the murders, it's more about the person who commited these acts and we get to know him through the 2 hours and 20 minutes.
And another thing this film might be long but it sure doesn't feel like it. Typically in long movies, there are moments in which you feel the movie slows down, but I didn't feel it with this movie.
Don't get me wrong this is not a fast paced film at all, its pace is slow but never boring. Overall I can't really complain about this film, though we never really given any motive for his murders and some parts were confusing (cause they followed several characters in different time periods), but once you get everything in order this film is hard not to love.
Highly recommended for fans of great films.
