Review of Velvet Goldmine (1998) by Satomi N — 06 Dec 2007
Ewan McGregor and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are fantastic (not to mention exquisitely beautiful) in this Ziggy Stardust-esque film; they make it the marvelous film it is. So it's not very coherent at times - but its haphazard aspect makes it so exciting, so glam rock, so 70's.
Music is amazing, and the overall theatrics, the glittery-ness is enthralling. But with the orgy, masturbation, gay sex scenes, drug use, and overall hedonistic lifestyle, it's probably not for the conservative or faint of heart.
