Review of Velvet Goldmine (1998) by Stephanie W — 27 Mar 2008
Very colourfull lol, The insight into life of the music fanatics of the 70's was very interesting as well as quite repulsing (I mean that positivily).
The cast were excellent, I forgot that Ewan McGregor was actually Ewan McGregor that's how good he was in it.
Bale as always: *Squeak* Fantabulous.
It's a very sexually graphic movie which is a bit unerving (a flashback of a certain scene comes to mind Dx golly D= lol.) at times but it works very well. The lines are pretty funny at times, hilarius actyally - even when it's not really supposed to be, for example the patter of the glam-rockers talking about art and life, some of the stuff they come out with was so hypocritical and pretencious; It made the film seem very historicly acurate.
Brilliantly written anf filmed movie, great cast, interesting imagery and the mood of the film fitted the context of the story completely.
