Review of Velvet Goldmine (1998) by Jesse L — 30 Aug 2010
I stumbled across this film in a humanities class about comparitive culture, so I didn't know what to expect. But it is art in the best way. Strange, twisted, with a plot that's diluted with color and flair (and heartbreak).
the downside though, is that it is hard to follow whats going on when wild music videos and seemingly random segments break up the film. As I said, its more art then mainstream, but its still a compelling film done with obvious passion.
