Review of Vantage Point (2008) by David J — 23 Nov 2011
The concept was different but I wasn't too impressed with the execution. To be honest I felt like my intelligence was insulted when to show every one of the seven points of view they had to rewind and wash out the footage I just saw.
I picked up from the trailer that I was in for a film that was going to show multiple angles of the same event and even if I hadn't I certainly would have gotten the hint after the first time it happened.
Too often filmmakers cater to the lesser intelligent of our culture which leaves the rest of us to be bored by unimaginative stories, superficial characters, and films that don't allow the viewer to discover anything for himself/herself.
The last half of the movie was pretty good but the whole execution of the different vantage points made it difficult to enjoy the movie as a whole.
