Review of Vanishing Point (1971) by Gary B — 27 Mar 2010
Electric and thoughtful road movie infused with a sense of American independence and natural beauty of the open road similar to Easy Rider. Barry Newman is terrific as Kowalski, a man so damaged by his experiences that he has developed a suicidal single-mindedness to do his job; as the world around him struggles to cope with him, stop him, or give some kind of meaning to his inexplicable actions.
